I am an author and poet.
What do you love about what you do?
I’m pretty lucky I was able to turn my passion into a career. Expression as a form of art can also serve as a cathartic method, so I love that I’m able to help people with my work. [editor's note: Turning passion into your career is AMERICAE's guiding force. Drop us a line, we would love to hear how it drives you.]

Favorite Americae items and why?
The beautiful chartreuse clutch bag. I have it and love it. Definitely a statement piece.
Who do you think embodies the Americae woman and why?
I think a bold woman, who is comfortable in her own skin.
Describe your style and why is it authentically you?
I’m pretty classic. As I’ve gotten older I’m less into trends and more into classic pieces that I can own for a long time.
What drives you?
Love drives me. I’m a passionate woman, and I believe everything is rooted in love. My love for my family and loved ones, love for my career, love of knowledge, is what always keeps me inspired and motivated.
What's on your bookshelf?
My books of course and many other gems, including several Pablo Neruda books. [editor's note: Pablo Neruda was regarded as the greatest Latin American poet of the 20th century and the winner of the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1971.]

What's your personal motto or what message would you like to share with women?
I have a tattoo “Still I Rise” after the poem by Maya Angelou. It’s a reminder of how strong I am. Regardless of how many times you fall, you can choose to get up and rise again.
