Care Instructions

We only work with high-quality materials, from precious gemstones and gold, to soft leather, silks, wool, and teak wood.
Our pieces are made for everyday wear and they also deserve your love and care.
The following are recommendations to keep your AMERICAE items in their best condition, forever.

  HANDBAGS

Do not overfill your bag. Avoid prolonged exposure to rain or the sun. If your bag gets wet, wipe it dry with a soft cloth. To help reduce the look of any marks on the wood or leather, gently rub in a circular motion. We recommend an uncolored cream polish for periodic conditioning. Store your bag upright in the pouch it came in. For any emerald gemstones on a bag, avoid prolonged contact of the gem with textured fabrics such as tweed. Clean and care for handbag gemstones per our jewelry instructions.

Appreciate the beauty of the bag as it reveals itself to you over time.

Even something as strong as metal or gold deserves love and care.

To maintain its beauty, scrub any gold or metal areas lightly with a toothbrush and warm water. Please note that the horn base of our emerald rings are water sensitive. Avoid water or excessive sweat when wearing your piece, because over time the natural horn will oxidize. Clean all horn bases by buffing gently with a dry cloth and storing the ring in its velvet pouch. To keep raw emeralds clean and shiny, use tepid soapy water and a soft brush. Avoid chemicals or excessive temperatures when cleaning.

Appreciate the beauty of each jewelry piece as it reveals itself to you over time.
