Ashley Griffin likes to live in the moment. She is driven by her community and fulfilled by pursuing her passions. Ashley's blog, The Inspired i, serves as a style guide, a travel tips resource, and an open diary. Ashley, like AMERICAE, understands the power of a driven woman who expresses her #realityisextraordinary through dress.

What do you do?

9-to-5, I’m a corporate marketing maven for a luxury fashion brand in Dallas, TX. 24/7, I’m dreaming and believing over on my personal style blog, The Inspired i.

What do you love about what you do?

I’m so fortunate that both my full-time job and passion project really fuel one another. I’m constantly dreaming and creating a vision for various projects within both, while each serves as a strong source of inspiration for the other.

Where are you from?

I always say it depends on the day; as a military brat, I moved a bit more than average. I was born in Southern California and grew up primarily in New Orleans, LA and Atlanta, GA.

Education?

I have a Bachelor of Arts in Broadcast Media from Florida State University, with a double minor in English and Sociology. I love to write!

Sign?

True Cancer

Favorite AMERICAE items and why?

I LOVE the bow detailed blouse. Not only is it all kinds of chic, but it has all the right elements that make it anything but basic and perfect for adding dimension when layering with other pieces. The dramatic bow detail on the front and the sleeveless on one side only is too good.

Who do you think embodies the AMERICAE woman and why?

The AMERICAE woman is daring and unapologetic and wants a wardrobe to match.

Describe your style and why is it authentically you?

My style is constantly evolving but thoughtful. Details always matter and I without a doubt re-wear things in my closet over and over again, but never in the same way — it’s truly the best way to keep my wardrobe feeling fresh and long-lasting.

What drives you?

A sense of community. My guy, family, friends, and anyone I have yet to meet are everything I could ever need in life.

What's on your bookshelf?

"Becoming" by Michelle Obama, Cleo Wade’s "Heart Talk" (a gem for a quick everyday mood booster), and stacks on stacks of fashion coffee table books.

Next or favorite travel destination?

I just got back from a getaway to Isla Holbox and am still stuck in the most amazing vacation daze! If your travels take you there, book a stay at Punta Caliza and make sure you have dinner at Luuma.

What's next for you?

Honestly, I try really hard not to put too much focus on the future because it detracts from living in the present. I am truly fulfilled when pouring into others, so I look forward to continuing to grow my strategic marketing career through a leadership role, as I create and share my passion for life and expression of personal style.

What's your personal motto or what message would you like to share with women?

If ever presented with an opportunity (or dream) that scares the sh*t out of you, you absolutely need to pursue it. Growth never comes from a place of comfort, so get comfortable with always being uncomfortable and you will be amazed on how you are able to create a life beyond your wildest dreams.
